COC Members Visit Maxwell School

Members of the Citizens’ Oversight Committee (COC) for Measure I, Leonard Lahtinen, Jasmine LaBurn, Daisy Tan and Alyson Crockett, visited Maxwell School on 5/22/2012, with Kevin Smith, Assistant Superintendent, Business and Support Services.  Richard Schwartz, Director, Maintenance, Operations and Transportation, facilitated the visit, showing members of the committee work that has been completed so far, as part of the Bond Measure.  The committee was very impressed with the new playground surface, using poured-in-place rubber, and new play equipment.  They were also shown the security fence that has been installed.   Plans will be made for the committee to visit all District schools in the near future, to view projects completed/in progress, funded by the Measure I.
