Welcome to Walt Disney School! Disney is one of nine schools in the Magnolia School District. There are approximately 700 diverse students that attend our school. Our hard working staff is dedicated to helping ALL our students become successful. Students, parents, staff, and community all work together to create a rich educational environment.
At Walt Disney School experienced and knowledgeable staff work to create a student-centered atmosphere. Students are provided with individual textbooks and instructional materials in the core subject areas. The rigorous core curriculum in language arts, mathematics, science, and social science ensures that each child is receiving support as well as being challenged. Through teacher training, monitoring of student achievement, and modification of instruction, we are able to meet the individual learning needs of ALL of our students.
In addition to the core curriculum, Disney also implements a character education program. Character Counts! is a program designed to teach students about the Six Pillars of Character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. We are also proud to be building students' sense of community and foster a climate of caring through the Caring School Community program.
Disney School is fortunate to have the support of parents and the community. We hold many parent education nights, including Homework Nights, Math Nights, Reading Nights, and Science Nights. Parents also have the opportunity to come to Back-to-School Night, Open House, Parent Conferences, and Student Performances.
Through hard work and dedication, students, parents, staff, and community has made Disney an excellent school for learning. Thank you for all your support and making our school wonderful!

April 24th proved to be a day of "adventure" for Walt Disney Elementary fourth graders. Students and teachers spent the day at California Adventure with a Disney docent traveling through the four regions of California. They learned about the topography, industry, and important people of those regions. It was a wonderful hands-on experience that complemented the Social Studies curriculum that is studied in their classrooms.
What an awesome bunch of readers! Walt Disney School recognized those students who have earned at least 100 points in Accelerated Reader at their Friday morning spirit assembly this past week. These students were awarded with colorful "100 Point Club" t-shirts that they can wear with pride. The youngest students reaching this milestone were in second grade. They had to read quite a library of books to reach this level. Timothy P. is Disney's top reader with 591 points. In all, 40 students have reached the 100 point mark. That is awesome! We know many more students will reach this milestone by the end of this school year. Keep reading Disney!!
Students of Walt Disney's fifth-grade class were fascinated and excited by their "Walk Through The American Revolution" experience last month. The program makes the whole Revolutionary War period come alive, and students built a much stronger foundation for what it means to be an American as a result of their efforts.

Each Friday before school, our Disney students participate in Fun Fitness Friday. Instead of the usual before school recess, the students and many staff members, put on their walking shoes and start having fun. We play all kinds of music to keep it interesting. We started with the usual pop music like Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, then moved to holiday music for Halloween and Christmas, and are looking forward to some music that will represent the many cultures we have at Disney School. Students enjoy walking around the blacktop while socializing with their friends. It helps to build a great sense of school-wide community while encouraging a healthy lifestyle of exercise. By getting everyone active and our heart rates up, studies show that the brain is more prepared for learning…and teaching as well. Together, as a Disney team, we will continue to improve our school community, fitness, and learning.
